A $500 donation to The Rotary Foundation can help six disabled workers in the Philippines start a watch-repair business, provide safety equipment for a boat that brings health services to isolated locations in Peru, or help women in Mexico start five small sewing businesses and be more self-sufficient.
Can you commit to donating $500 per year to the Foundation to make lasting change?

WHAT CAN A $1,000 GIFT TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION DO?
A $1,000 contribution to The Rotary Foundation pays for the materials needed to build a deep bore well in India that will supply clean drinking water to more than 300 people. It provides materials to treat and prevent parasites and anemia in children in Brazil or pays for a tree nursery in Jamaica that will help 700 farmers increase their income. It can provide a cow and animal husbandry training to a woman in Uganda, where children often don’t get enough protein and calcium. It can pay for the polio vaccine for 2,000 children in Nigeria or provide $50 microloans that allow 20 women in Nicaragua to start businesses.
Can you commit to donating $1,000 per year to The Rotary Foundation to change people’s lives?

The Abbotsford International Airshow is looking for Rotary volunteers, and they would love your support.
They are currently seeking volunteers for the following dates and shifts:
Friday, August 7— 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM Saturday, August 8 — 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM Sunday, August 9 — 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM
There are three gates that need approximately 25 volunteers per gate.
This is a chance to roll up our sleeves and make a meaningful impact while enjoying one of Abbotsford’s most iconic community events. Whether you can join them for a few hours or the full day, your time will help ensure the event runs smoothly and reflects the best of who we are as Rotarians and volunteers.
As Rotarians, we believe in Service Above Self —a principle that unites us and gives deeper meaning to everything we do.
This is a special request for donations to buy new wheels for our basketball wheelchairs. As you may know, our wheelchair factory crew also constitutes the Transiciones basketball team – after hours, our expert welders transform into ace hoopsters. We are the current Guatemalan champions! However, we need to replace our worn-out wheels before the regional tournament season begins later this year.
Unfortunately, they are expensive: $8,592 for 12 pairs of wheels. These specialist wheels are super-robust to withstand the forces involved in our high-impact sport, with strong, light carbon-fiber spokes in an arrangement designed to maximize energy-efficiency and speed. We've shopped around among the suppliers, and this the best price available.
Once we raise the funds, we will buy the wheels in the US and a trucker friend will bring them down to us in Guatemala. That way we can roll into the tournament season with confidence and safety.
Sport has always been part of Transiciones, because keeping active and healthy is especially important for those of us with mobility impairments. Basketball strengthens physical and mental health, self-esteem and social inclusion. It's common to hear wheelchair athletes say that sport saved their lives. Three years ago, we built our onsite regulation basketball court as part of our commitment to inclusive sport.
If you're a sports fan – or even if you're not – please consider making a donation toward our goal of $8,592 via PayPal on our website https://transicionesguatemala.org/donate/. You'll boost our chances of staying at the top of the game for the next 2-3 years. And when you come for a visit to Guatemala, please come see us play. It's a thrill to watch!
Thank you very much for this, and for all your support.
