ROTARY & ROTARACT DISTRICT 5050 DISTRICT ASSEMBLIES

Kwantlen Polytechnic University, 12666 72nd Avenue, Surrey, BC

Saturday, Apr 5

Registration begins at 8:00 AM
Assembly begins promptly at 9:00 AM

Our Rotary clubs are aging and losing members. We need to (re)build our connections with our communities and with our youth.  The 2025 District Assembly is doing things differently - with a morning focus on creating vibrant clubs followed by afternoon sessions for individual areas of interest.

This year we will be holding two concurrent District Assemblies – one for Rotary and one for Rotaract.  The Rotary morning sessions will focus on Vibrant Clubs - with an emphasis on membership, public image and The Rotary Foundation.  The Rotaract morning session will focus on issues specific to Rotaract and youth programs.  Rotarians can attend either of the morning sessions.

The afternoon session will be a variety of different sessions, open for all.  This will include the traditional sessions for Club Officers (Presidents-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership, Foundation, Youth, etc.),

The District Assemblies will build networking and relationships and provide learning for both long term members and newer members who would like to better understand the value and meaning of Rotary, Rotaract and our youth programs.

We will have a group gathering to begin our time followed by seminars on topics pertinent to members who are seeking strong leadership skills and connections.

ROTARACT SPRING FUNDRAISER

Thursday April 24th
7:00pm at Trading Post Brewing in Abbotsford

Please join us for a fun night of food, socializing, raffle games, live music, and best of all, FUNDRAISING!! We will be fundraising for an organization called SARA for Women, a non-profit organization that provides safe refuge for women and children who are being affected by domestic violence. This organization has locations in both Abbotsford and Mission, so it is very close to home.

Tickets are $30.00 and $10.00 from each ticket sale will go straight to SARA for Women. The ticket will also get you a burger or chicken sandwich, fries, and a beer of your choice. You will also be entered into a draw to win a door prize provided by Trading Post valued at $100.00! You will notice in the link below that there are two ticket options listed: the regular $30.00 ticket, and the $45.00 ticket. The latter will allow you not only to donate to SARA for Women, but will allow you to donate straight to the Rotaract Club of the Fraser Valley, where we will use these funds to support our other ongoing service projects.

The link to purchase your tickets is below.

May 17, 2025 EPIC Day of Service

Rotary District 5050 invites you to be part of a global movement of action, impact, and unity.

The EPIC Day of Service will unite more than 2,500 Rotary Clubs and 75,000 Rotarians, community volunteers, and partners across the globe in a single day dedicated to making the world a better place addressing pressing community issues.

The EPIC Day of Service is an unprecedented day of giving back to our communities because “Service” is at the core of Rotary’s mission. We use our knowledge of local issues to identify areas of need and then apply our expertise and diverse perspectives to find a solution.

Rotary Clubs will work with a Project Partner who is a local nonprofit, historical organization, parks, and non-profit recreation facilities, to mention a few.

Together, people create change.
