Abbotsford Community Foundation update

Wendy has been a resident of Abbotsford for more than 40 years and graduated from W.J. Mouat high school.  She spent 36 years working in the insurance industry, earning her CIP designation and was licensed as a Level 3 Nominee and a Level 2 life insurance agent, with a primary focus on risk assessment of intensive livestock operations and providing appropriate insurance solutions.

In 2017, Wendy switched careers and took on the role of Executive Director at the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF), where she had previously held a volunteer role as Board Chair from 2013 to 2016.  When people ask her what she does for a living she always responds with “I raise money to give it away!”  The ACF has invested more than $12M in Abbotsford through grants and scholarships over their more than 40 year history.

Wendy has been a Rotarian with the Abbotsford-Sumas Rotary club for the past 20 years.  She was the club President in 2012 and has served on the Board for 15 years in almost all the respective leadership positions, including Treasurer and Secretary, as well as Assistant Governor.

Wendy is also a 15 year member of the Abbotsford Executive Association and sat on their Board for a period of 3 years.  She is married and has a seventeen-year old daughter.  She enjoys volunteering, reading, travelling, and hiking in her spare time.
